Oh wow you have heaps planned!! Go you! I'm hoping I can register for the Canadian Death Race 125km in August 2019 but registrations aren't open yet, and I'm not sure how quickly they fill up 😬 I still need to look at the rest of 2019 and find some more smaller distance races!

Oct 19, 2018

That is one of the races on my bucket list!

All the best for your races everyone and hello from U.K. No more runs planned for this year, but currently next year plans are:

Cotswold Way Challenge 100K in end Jun

North Downs Way 100miles in early Aug

Hey folks! Looks like lots of awesome running coming up for you all. Right now I'm try to rest up and get back to some consistent and enjoyable fall running and will be entering the Hardrock 100 and Western States 100 lotteries in a few weeks here...no luck getting through in either last year so here's hoping! If those fall through I'm looking at the Bighorn 100 in Wyoming in June and possibly the Red Hot 55k in Moab in February. Happy Trails and good luck this weekend Matt!

Oct 19, 2018

Nice! What qualifiers did you run for Hardrock and WSER?

Oct 21, 2018

@Nathan Johnson I ran the Run Rabbit Run 100 miler last year for my Hardrock qualifier and the Never Summer 100k this year for WSER since I needed one again for that race. Hardrock gives you two years for one qualifier.

Aiming for a BQ at CIM this year before switching focus to the trails in 2019. Best wishes for everyone's races!

Oct 19, 2018

I plan on entering the 2019 WS lottery. Got my qualifier this year at IMTUF!

Wildwood Trail marathon Dec 2 this year.

Potawatomi 50 mile April 7

Burning River 100 July 27

Happy running everyone!

I have the 50K at TNF in November but will need to sit it out due to a recent stress fracture. I likely will volunteer instead. Nothing on the calendar for 2019 but I'm hoping to run a couple of 50Ks and one longer race. I also would like to do a couple of 6-hour events, as this seems like an easier way to get in really long training runs.

Oct 24, 2018

Highly recommend a 6-hour event! I did a 6 hour, overnight, trail race this summer and it was probably the best training run I did all year.

Nov 9, 2018

Excellent recommendations. I just signed up for the 6-hour night option at the Pulse Endurance Runs in Boise on 3/22/19.

I finally have a race calendar to post.

Chabot Redtail Ridge Half-Marathon (Feb 16)

Marin Ultra Challenge 25K (Mar 9)

Napa Valley Trail 50K (Apr 20)

Mount Diablo 28K (May 18)

Pinole Dirty Half Dozen 6 hr (July 6)

Skyline 50K (Aug 4)

Tamalpa Headlands 50K (Aug 24)

TNF 50 Miler (date tbd)

Oct 21, 2018

I am returning to Scotland in September to do the Skyline Scotland again. Probably the Mamores VK and hopefully (if I get in as it is a vetted event) the Glencoe Skyline.

I am looking at some bigger 75K - 100K races in the Alps (Austria, Switzerland) for the summer but still haven't decided. I might also go to the UK as they have some amazing races there pretty much happening all the time.

  • Hey Everyone just wanted to send out a reminder that Lauren and I will finally get to go on our Honeymoon next week! We will be gone 3/14-3/22. What that means is I will be taking a week long break from you guys and gals and enjoying time with my wife! If you have any questions or concerns about training during that week go ahead and ask soon and I will do my best to get to everything before we take off. I will also put a reminder in all of your logs. Thank you all so much for understanding. Let's keep rocking and rolling!!
  • **This is a long post but read carefully!** I think this would be very worthwhile for you guys to sign up for if this is something you are interested in, plus I've gotten us a discount code to use! I am looking forward to next year as i'm planning a team outing for one of these trips. Let me know what you think! Looking for a Destination Run in 2019? Many of the most spectacular trails in the United States are located deep inside our nation’s wilderness areas. There will never be “races” in these places, but they are open to adventure. So, if you’re interested in run-exploring backcountry trails, check out Aspire Adventure Running. Aspire has partnerships and permits with some of the West’s most iconic National Parks, including Yosemite, the North Cascades, and Mt. Rainier to organize single and multi-day adventure runs. Their trips are divided into stages where runners only carry a light vest across gorgeous and remote backcountry terrain. While you are out on the trail, the Aspire crew are busy shuttling gear that will be waiting at the next camp. Each basecamp is loaded with hot showers, hammocks, bonfires, and spectacular meals featuring gourmet burgers, grilled salmon, fresh salads, dutch oven cobblers, and of course a cooler full of drinks. The food and camaraderie are spectacular. Aspire is gearing up for their 5th operating season. Whether you're looking to run the Wonderland Trail, try your first multi-day stage across the North Cascades, or simply want to retreat to the San Juan Islands for a weekend of beach camping and trail running, they’ve got you covered. For more information on their project check out www.AspireAdventureRunning.com. Use coupon code: MDRC to receive $100 of any multi-day stage run or $50 off a weekend adventure.
