Justin Brueggemann took on the Black Hills 100 this weekend! After flying through 40 miles he suffered some severe dehydration and was forced to pull out by medical staff. I am certain he is going to come back stronger and ready to rock!
Only because many of you were asking: I ran Western States this weekend and took 4th place. It was an experience of a lifetime. Many things went wrong and many things went right...thats what 100 milers are all about! One thing for certain is I had one of the best crews out there and my wife and MDRC runner Lauren Daniels was the most unbelievable support beam I could ask for! She took time away from her own training for the Olympic trails to be out there with me all weekend, scrap me up off the trail and give me that sweet kick in the ass when needed to finish something I have set my eyes on for a while. I know i've told you already but thank you so much. I love you.
AMAZING weekend as always. There were so many great race performances but I think what I was most impressed with was going through all the logs today and seeing how UNBELIEVABLE everyone trained this weekend...HOLY SMOKES! The world has no idea what is going to hit them in the face over the coming weeks! Also wanted to thank all the MDRC athletes who came out to support me during the race this weekend. It was so awesome getting to put faces to names and to see others out on the course. You all were a bright light of inspiration If you have any pictures from the weekend please post them! I will try to get the ones taken at the finish of us from my dad over the coming days!
Great Work out there everyone, remember on any bad run/race, you went out and did something, which is amazing on its own, if you also get something positive out of it like, "next time I am gonna do this or that different", even better and if you pull motivation out of a bad day, no one can stop you and you've won anyway
MDRC had our own firework show during the 4th of July weekend!!!!

having a lot going on right now, so just letting you guys know, that surrendering should never be an option, and no, by this I dont mean you should finish every race/run no matter what costs, that would be stupid, but surrendering in form of stopping to move forward, thinking, that there is no way out.
Sometimes you have a bad day, each and everyone has, but do we give up? No, because in the long run, it doesn't make sense, wasting time with being down, just focus on the positive things, accept what happened and let the bad things go you cant have an impact on the past anyway, so instead of griefing about the past, focus on the moment and what you can do NOW to prevent that from happening next time or to just focus on what you can influence at the moment.
As a smart person once said, if you are not focused in the NOW, where you can act, influence and change, you are being suboptimal and if you are suboptimal, with that you will go into the next moment also unfocused and suboptimal, you see where this is going so heads up, each and everyone of you is amazing and incredible in their own way. Stay Positive

Great Work out there everyone, remember on any bad run/race, you went out and did something, which is amazing on its own, if you also get something positive out of it like, "next time I am gonna do this or that different", even better and if you pull motivation out of a bad day, no one can stop you and you've won anyway

As always let me know If I missed any results.
having a lot going on right now, so just letting you guys know, that surrendering should never be an option, and no, by this I dont mean you should finish every race/run no matter what costs, that would be stupid, but surrendering in form of stopping to move forward, thinking, that there is no way out.
